UGC stands for User-Generated Content. It refers to any form of content—such as photos, videos, reviews, or social media posts—that is created by everyday consumers or users rather than by the brand itself.

 

I have been a content creator, in addition to a news reporter, for give+ years. UGC is widely considered the digital evolution of word-of-mouth marketing. It acts as "social proof," which builds trust because consumers are more likely to believe the honest opinions of their peers rather than traditional corporate advertising.
